College gears up for placements

With the commencement of the even semester, SJC is all set to bring in more placements this year. The college has planned on initiating the placement process from November and stretch the drive till March.

The College is providing off campus placements for all the courses, with an addition of B.Com in this year’s list. Disneyland, Deloitte, Reuters, Pepper media, Shell, Wipro, and Infosys are some among the expected 13 placement recruits of this year.

However, Mr Kiran Jeevan, P.R.O, expressed the need for students to be proactive and engage with the placement process. “Until the students work closely with the placement office, we can’t attain success. There has to be a mutual collaboration, instead of me merely sending messages to them.”

SJC is also organising a training and skill development programme with a certificate course for benefit of the students. Last year, the college hit a target of 84% placements and this year, the plan is to touch 90% in the placement this year.

Students are expecting to settle into good companies with utmost enthusiasm. “We are excited for the placement drives to begin as it reduces the hassle and provides a better opportunity for the students to encounter various recognised organisations,” said Raunaq Kapoor, II M.A.
