WACC membership limited now to 500

With a limit of 500 members this year, registration of freshers to the Wildlife Association and Conservation Club in St Joseph’s College commenced on Friday. The club aims to spread awareness about endangered wildlife species and inspire others who can advance the cause of conservation. This year’s agenda includes a week-long wild life festival, five treks and a national conference on wild life.

The club will be open for registration till the end of the month. The club has been in operation for six years and is run by the students of SJC. Initially, the club was a part of the CSA and now it is an independent organisation. The WACC was the first association in the college to host a national conference last year.

“We have decided to partner with the Indian Forest Service for a camp in Bandipur National Park for a 3-day camp. In terms of membership we are considerably the largest student organisation on campus’’ said Prof Kiran Jeevan, Professor of Social Work and faculty co-ordinator of the WACC.
