SJC marks X-Mas with special sermon

St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) on Wednesday, December 18, heralded Christmas with a special service at the college auditorium. The Mass was served by Fr Stanislaus D’souza SJ, who said he was taken aback by the number of youngsters who had come to attend the mass.

In his sermon, he said, “The youth are not just the future of this world but they are the present.” The Christmas mood was set by the All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) choir led by Sain Marwein, the AICUF college head. The choir sang carols old and new, rekindling the joy of the Christmas season.

Fr D’souza equated the relationship of man and God with that of the long-lost relationship between friends in the recent popular Tamil movie 96. “The relation between man and God is just like the two main characters in the film. They did not forget the love for each other even though they had not seen each other for a long time,” he said. Sandra Colaco, in her vote of thanks, said Fr D’souza’s enlightening sermon and blessing would be carried forward by everyone present.
