College café shoots for Fame with fried chicken

Several hands stretch towards Paul as students line up patiently to receive their order of fried chicken during the break. Paul seems to have his hands full with managing Cafe Fame on the top floor of the Magis Block of St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), with everyone looking to grab a bite from there.

The canteen offers traditional South Indian breakfast like idli, vada, masala dosa, and pongal, besides dishes such as bread omlette and NorthEastern delicacies. Fast food like cheeseburger and fried chicken are also available. The canteen opens at 7:30 am, catering to the early birds in the college, and closes at 4:30 pm. The most indemand dish it serves seems to be fried chicken.

Abhishek, a firstyear student, said the fried chicken at the canteen was delicious and also pocket friendly. He added that one can eat leisurely in the canteen due to its ambience. Sana, another student, said she and her friends opt for this canteen because of the good fast food it serves up.
