First-ever inter-collegiate Ignatian Week in SJC

The All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) in St Joseph’s College, Bangalore, has scheduled the first inter-collegiate Ignatian Week from July 24 to 28 this year. According to Prof Amita Priyadarshini, advisor to AICUF, “The upcoming event in the campus is Ignatian Week in order to talk more about Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order.”

Prof Priyadarshini said, “Like every year, we got a tremendous response from the students this year. We have many events lined up. And we are planning to have AICUF membership for all the PG students in the upcoming year.”

AICUF held a general body meet for all the AICUFers in SJC on Tuesday. Their new goals this year is to increase more outreach activities, promote communal harmony and make activities more vibrant. They announced the elected core committee , Lokesh as President; Arvind Suresh as Vice President; Cyril Ignatius as General Secretary; Merril, as Joint Secretary; Arul Jennifer as Cultural Secretary, Sanjay as Treasurer.

Prof Priyadarshini said AICUF “Aims at two things, spiritual formation and outreach activities, which is giving back to society.” AICUF was formed 2012 in St. Joseph’s College. It deals with issues like women and children, human rights, environment welfare, LGBT community rights and more.
