Teach for India seeks recruits in SJC

Teach for India, a non-profit organisation, conducted a call for students of St.Joseph’s College to joint its fellowship programme on Tuesday. This programme provides an opportunity for students to pick up leadership skills, for serving the poor children in the varied areas of subject specialisation. Ashmi, a Fellowship Recruiter for Teach for India, said “The organisation is playing a crucial role in bridging the gap between non-educated groups with educated groups through the fellowship programme”. She added that “The focus point is to serve resource-poor government school children to get them an opportunity for quality education.”

Teach for India’s vision is that one day all poor children will attain an excellent education on par with resource-rich children. The organisation provides a stipend of Rs.17, 500 plus HRA for those who work with them on a two-year, full-time commitment.

After the fellowship programme, the students will get an opportunity to extend their full time work or join other organisations. The last day to register is on September 3. For further details and to apply online, visit the Teach for India website,
