Centre for Molecular &Computational Biology

Centre for Molecular & Computational Biology (CMCB) was established in 2006 at St. Joseph's Post Graduate and Research Centre Bangalore-27. It was started by Dr. Jayarama Reddy. Currently the association is actively engaging in several scientific activities and events conducted for under-graduate and post-graduate students, under the supervision of Dr. Jayarama Reddy & Dr. Lokesh Ravi. The staff members of departments of Botany, Computer science and Biotechnology are members of this centre. There are a number of student members, office bearers, & volunteers involved in its activities. In addition to this any scientists pursuing research in this area are also welcome to join this centre. The centre is involved in active research in the area of bioinformatics, computational biology and molecular biology. CMCB association in St. Joseph’s College has its own website (www.biovistas.org). The Most important activity of this association is to promote research and engage students in research activities. CMCB is managing its own International Open Access Scientific Journal “Biovistas -International Journal of Biological Research” (IJBR).

Objectives of CMCB
• To create awareness regarding the concepts and principles of modern biology.
• To promote the modern techniques and concepts.
• To conduct workshops and train the youngsters in the modern technology.
• To inculcate the research attitude in students.
• To provide required knowledge to students.
